Lufthansa Group is introducing an Environmental Cost Surcharge to conform to European Union environmental legislation. Tickets issued from tomorrow, 26 June 2024, with departures from 1 January 2025 will become more expensive. This applies to departures from the European Union, Great Britain, Norway and Switzerland. Do you have such tickets in option? Then deregister them today to avoid the price hike.

The new surcharge is applicable on Austrian Airlines / Brussels Airlines / Eurowings / Lufthansa / SWISS / Air Dolomiti / Discover Airlines / Edelweiss / Lufthansa City Airlines / Lufthansa CityLine (operated and sold by OS/SN/EW/LH/LX/EN/WK/4Y/VL/CL or wet-lease partners), for tickets issued on OS/SN/LH/LX/EN (257/082/220/724/101), through any distribution channel.

The surcharge will be displayed in your booking system as a YQ tax code YQ-F. Depending on your booking system, the YQ-F is shown separately, or is included in the International/Domestic Surcharge YQ-I of the ticket.
