Airline updates February'24

You can now book flynas (IATA: XY) through Getflights. flynas is a Saudi low-cost airline founded in 2007. They have their home base in Riyadh. From Brussels Airport, flynas flies directly to Jeddah. XY642 flies on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 09h20 and arrives in Jeddah at 17h20.

Note that strict rules apply when you book flynas, e.g. churning. If you make more than 2 cancellations and rebookings of the same booking, this is considered an attempt to circumvent ticketing time limits or an attempt to meet GDS productivity. An ADM (penalty) will be charged in these cases.

From June 2024, Brussels Airlines will fly 6 times a week from Brussels to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. SN481 on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday flies nonstop. SN491 on Wednesday and Sunday will have a stopover in Kigali. The departure of all these flights is scheduled at 10h20 . This brings the total number of Brussels Airlines flights to sub-Saharan Africa to 18.

In addition, Brussels - Kigali will become a daily connection. On Mondays and Fridays, it will be SN467. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, it will be SN465. On Wednesdays and Sundays SN491. Return flights KGL-BRU will have the same flight numbers.

Moroccan low-cost carrier Air Arabia Maroc (IATA: 3O) will start flying to Rabat from Brussels Airport from May. From 3 May, Air Arabia Maroc will fly non-stop twice a week from Brussels Airport, on Fridays and Mondays with 3O136 departing at 12h00 and arriving at 14h15. Return flight RBA-BRU with 3O135 at 07h00 with arrival at 11h10 at Brussels Airport. Both flights on Monday depart half an hour earlier and also arrive half an hour earlier at their respective destinations.

Condor will add four flights a week from Frankfurt to Bangkok and three flights a week to Phuket from September 2024. 

Condor will thus offer the only non-stop flight from Germany to Phuket. An A330neo will operate these flights to Thailand. On board you have a choice between Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy. 

Condor launch Berlin - Dubai (DXB) as well starting October 2024. DE will fly daily with an A320neo to the United Arab Emirates. From Dubai, Condor offers connecting flights with its Emirates to many other destinations. As part of the partnership, Condor guests can collect Skywards miles on all flights.

This summer - from 26 June to 22 September - TUI fly will fly twice a week from Antwerp-Deurne airport to Oujda (OUD) in north-eastern Morocco, close to the Algerian border. Outbound flights TB2637 take place on Wednesdays and Sundays. Return flights TB2638 on Monday and Thursday. TB2637 ANR-OUD departs at 22h30 and arrives in Oujda at 00h50 the following day. TB2638 OUD-ANR departs at 03h00 in the morning and arrives in Antwerp at 07h20.

Kenya Airways (IATA: KQ) has signed a codeshare agreement with Air Europa (IATA: UX). The agreement allows Air Europa passengers to fly from Amsterdam to Nairobi. Conversely, passengers of KQ can book flights to Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, New York and Miami.

After meticulous safety analysis, Brussels Airlines is gradually resuming its flights to Tel Aviv Ben-Gurion. From 24 to 28 March, SN will fly on Thursdays and Sundays with SN3289 departing at 09h40 and arriving at 15h10. From March 31 to April 29, there will be flights on Monday, Thursday and Sunday with departure at 09h20 from Brussels to arrival in TLV at 14h50, also with SN3289.

Air Austral has announced its flight programme for summer 2024, which runs from 1 April to 27 October 2024.

• An updated long haul offer with 12 flights a week between Reunion and Paris and nine flights a week between Mayotte and Paris during the high season.
• A strengthened offer to Bangkok with an expanded network of connections to Asia, including Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea.
• An increased connections to Mayotte and Madagascar.

The flight programme is currently being implemented and will become bookable soon.

From 15 February until the end of the year, Royal Jordanian is offering free diving equipment for every ticket with an AQJ segment. This initiative is part of RJ's strategy to promote Aqaba as a destination in its own right.

Starting summer 2024, Ryanair will commence flying to a new destination from Brussels South Charleroi Airport. From 3 June to 21 October, FR will fly to Ponta Delgada (PDL) in the Azores. Flights will take place once a week, on Mondays each time. Depart on Monday morning with FR8517 at 06h45 and arrive in Ponta Delgada at 08h50. Flying back with FR8518 you do at 09h25 from PDL with arrival at 15h30 local time in CRL. Flight time is about 4 hours and 5 minutes.
